Part of the Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG), the Crisis Response Unit is a team of highly specialized radio technicians who can quickly respond to crisis scenes and establish effective radio communications for the other units within the FBI CIRG as well as establish radio communications links with other local, state and federal agencies.  This patch is velcro-backed and was designed in the early 1980’s before the establishment of CIRG.  It was made when the Crisis Response Unit was under the now-defunct Emergency Management Unit.
